Frequently Asked Questions

How many Toys, Games or Puzzles can I borrow?

This all depends on what Membership plan you sign up for. You can find out more information about our different Membership options here.
You also have the option of borrowing additional toys for only $2’s, or games and puzzles at a lost cost of just $1.
If at any point during your membership you feel that you need to upgrade your Membership so that you can regularly borrow more toys, just ask one of our friendly team and we’ll upgrade you at a pro-rata’d cost.

I want to Hire Toys and Games for a party or event, do I have to be a member?

To hire toys from Stonnington Toy Library, we require a minimum 3 month membership sign-up at a reduced cost of $55. This short-term membership allows us to maintain the high quality of toys and games. We do not charge a security deposit for hiring toys and thus this also acts as surety that the hired items will be cared for while on hire. During your 3 month membership, you are welcome to borrow toys from the Toy Library.

I want to volunteer with the Stonnington Toy Library, but I’m not a member

Amazing! We welcome volunteers and need people with a variety of skills to help us maintain our high quality service, thank you for thinking of us. Please email info@stonningtontoylibrary.org.au or use the contact form here and we’ll be in touch ASAP.

FAQ:  Do you accept donations?

YES, we do accept donations however we ask that you email us first with a photo of what you'd like to donate. This helps us assess our current needs and capacity as we rely on volunteers to assess quality, completeness and catalogue new items. You can help by cleaning toys before donating them to us and checking the battery function still works if it's a battery toy!

I can’t attend a session to fulfil my volunteering, what are my other options?

Unfortunately not. As per our terms and Conditions on sign-up, we do not offer refunds. As a not-for-profit organisation our fees cover the basic expenses we have such as insurance, rates, utilities and therefore are unable to offer refunds for change of mind or moving.
